Verispec, Inc. (“Verispec,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Verispec home inspection platform, including the Verispec mobile application and the website at verispec.io (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
By using Verispec, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: Name, email address, business name, phone number, and password when you register for an account.
Inspection Data: Inspection reports, property addresses, findings, section ratings, deficiency narratives, and other content you create within the Service.
Photos: Images you capture or upload during inspections. Photos may be processed by our AI features to suggest deficiency categories and descriptions (see Section 5).
Payment Information: When you accept payments through the Service, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
Device Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we collect your device token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver alerts for new bookings, payments, and reviews.
Usage Data: Log data, IP addresses, browser type, device information, pages visited, and other diagnostic information collected automatically.
Communications: Messages you send to our support team and any feedback you provide.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To generate inspection reports and deliver them to your clients
- To process payments and send transaction-related communications
- To send push notifications (new bookings, payments received, client reviews)
- To analyze inspection photos using AI and suggest deficiency descriptions
- To send service-related notices and support messages
- To monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud and security issues
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage
Database: Account information, inspection data, and structured content are stored in PostgreSQL databases hosted on secure cloud infrastructure.
Photo Storage: Inspection photos are stored in cloud object storage (Cloudflare R2 / Amazon S3) with encryption at rest. Photos are associated with your account and the relevant inspection.
Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Stored data is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.
5. Third-Party Services
We integrate with the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Stripe — Processes payments on behalf of inspectors. Stripe collects and processes payment information under its own privacy policy. We do not store full payment card details.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Delivers push notifications to your mobile device. We send device tokens to Firebase to route notifications. No inspection content is shared with Firebase.
- OpenAI — Inspection photos may be sent to OpenAI's API for AI-powered deficiency analysis. Photos are processed in real time and are not stored by OpenAI beyond the duration of the API request, in accordance with OpenAI's data usage policies.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
6. Sharing Your Information
We may share information with:
- Your Clients: Inspection reports and related data are shared with clients you designate through the client portal.
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service (as described in Section 5).
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Inspection data and photos are retained until you delete them or request account deletion. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@verispec.io.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict our processing of your information

9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain session state and remember your preferences. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
